April of 2005 St. Catherine The Great Martyr Russian Orthodox Church was built on a hill in the Russian Embassy in Rome. In December 2006 Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad (the present Patriarch) gave his first blessing to the church. On May 24th, 2009, Metropolitan Valentin of Orenburg and Buzuluk consecrated the new church.
